Orange County to with. Anthony Strother Moorehand complains of Christopher Zimmerman Administrator of all and singular the Goods and Chattels Rights and Credits which were of John Newport deed at the Time of his Death ^ who died intestate of a Plea of Trespass on the Case for that whereas tho said John in his Lifetime (that is to say) on the thirtieth Day of March in the Year of our Lord on Thousand seven hundred and forty seven at the County aforesaid, was indebted to the said Anthony six Pounds and eleven Shillings Current Money of Virginia for divers Goods Wares and Merchandizes before that Time sold and delivered by the said Anthony to the said Strother at his special instance and request and the said John Newport being so indebted in his Lifetime in Consideration thereof afterwarsd (that is to say) on the same Day, and in the year and at the Place aforesaid undertook and faithfully promised the Said Anthony that he the said John would well and truly pay and satisfie to the said Anthony the aforesaid six Pounds and eleven Shillings when he should be afterwards thereunto required. Nevertheless the said John in his Lifetime and the said Christopher since his Death not regarding the said Promise and Undertaking of the aforesaid John made in Manner and Form aforesaid but contriving and fraudulently intending craftily and subtilly to deceive and defraud the said Anthony in this Particular have not, nor other of them hath paid to the said Anthony, or satisfied him for, the said six Pounds and eleven Shillings ^ altho often required to do so but have altogether refused and the said Christopher still doth refuse to pay the same to him to the Damage of the said Anthony ten Pounds and therefore he brings this Suit, and so forth.
