Cole v. Leigh

Cole v. Leigh, 1 Jefferson’s Memorandum Books 96 (1769),[1] was a case for detinue involving five slaves that had already been purchased. George Wythe served as the primary attorney, but it is unclear for which side.

May 6. William Cole (Charles City) v. Ferdinando Leigh (K. Wm.). Detinue for 5 slaves already brought. G. W. principal to whom I am to apply for instructions. Same nature as Cole v. Robinson. Emploied by T. Claiborne for def.
