George Wythe as Speaker of the House of Delegates and Archibald Cary as Speaker of the Senate write to the Virginia Delegates informing them that George Mason, Benjamin Harrison, Joseph Jones, Francis Lightfoot Lee, and John Harvie are to be appointed Delegates to represent Virginia in Congress for one year starting on August 11th, 1777. The Senate and the House of Delegates jointly voted for the Delegates.
