George Wythe was twice elected to the Virginia electoral college—once in 1800, and again in 1804. In June of 1804, the National Intelligencer, and Washington Advertiser published the candidates for the House of Electors in Virginia.[1]

THE following correct list of the persons who compose the REPUBLICAN TICKET of Electors of President and Vice President of the United States, is published. The election for the choice of Electors will be holden in each county and corporation on the first Monday in November next.
