Printed in the Virginia Gazette on June 29, 1969. George Wythe, Lewis Burwell, John Blair Jun. and Ben Waller give an accounting of the finances of the public treasury.[1]

IN Compliance with the Act of the General Assembly we the Subscribers this day impaired to the Public Treasury and, having examin'd be Treasurer's Accounts and Vouchers of the different Receipts and Payments since the last Settlement, and them all fairly and justly stated. It appears that there has been received of the several Taxes appropriated for the Redemption of Treasury Notes the Sum of fifteen thousand five hundred seventy eight pounds five Shillings and eleven Pence including the balance of two thousand two hundred thirty nine Pounds eleven Shillings and three Pence formerly reported to remain in the Hands of the Treasurer; of which we have burnt and destroy'd ten thousand eight hundred and ninety Pounds ten Shillings and three Pence, so that there now remains in the Treasurer's Hands after deducting his Commissions, in Gold, Silver and Paper a Balance of four thousand six hundred and three Pounds thirteen Shillings and eleven Pence to be exchanged for old Treasury Notes and accounted for at a future Day. Upon examining the public Account, we find due to the Treasurer a Balance of one thousand three hundred and twenty nine pounds five Shillings and eight Pence. Given under our Hands this 28th June 1769.
