Evidence for Inclusion in Wythe's Library
Listed in the Jefferson Inventory of Wythe's Library as [Law of] Obligations 8vo. and given by Thomas Jefferson to Dabney Carr. The Brown Bibliography[2] and George Wythe's Library[3] on LibraryThing both identify this work as The Law of Obligations and Conditions attributed to Thomas Ashe. The only edition was published in 1693. The Wolf Law Library has not yet found a copy.

- ↑ Widely cited as Ashe's Law of Obligations and Conditions owing to a flourished "T.A." on the title page, most legal bibliographies list the author as "J.A.", as signed on page A4, at the end of the introductory "Epistle." The books listed in the Table of Pleadings were printed five or six decades after Thomas Ashe's death in 1618.
