Charles Evans (1850 – 1935) was an American librarian and bibliographer. His magnum opus, the 14-volume American Bibliography: A Chronological Dictionary of All Books, Pamphlets, and Periodical Publications Printed in the United States of America, contains entries for items published by, or for, George Wythe, including seven cases reported in six supplemental pamphlets, printed separately after an edition of Wythe's decisions were published in 1795.[1] Some of the dates of publication for the pamphlets, however, are inaccurate.[2]

The pamphlet for Between Pleasants and Logan (1800) was printed after the case left the Court of Appeals, and contains not only Wythe's Chancery Court decree of September 12, 1798, the Appellate Court's decree of May 6, 1799 (mistakenly dated as April term, 1800, in Call's Reports [6 Va. 319]) from Paul Carrington, Spencer Roane, and Edmund Pendleton (president), and the final Chancery decrees of September 24, 1799 and March 19, 1800.[3]
